Twin-city realities
Rawalpindi and Islamabad are physically attached but operationally different cities. A move from Saddar Rawalpindi to F-7 Islamabad is 30 minutes and counts as a same-day local move. We don't bill an intercity surcharge on twin-city work. Most of our weekly Rawalpindi moves are actually Islamabad-to-Rawalpindi shifts as families upgrade from older flats to Bahria Town Phase 8.
The narrow-lanes problem
Older parts of Rawalpindi (Saddar, Lalkurti, Westridge, anywhere off Murree Road in the inner belt) have lanes that don't fit a 22-foot truck. We send a 14-foot Shehzore on those moves, which means more loads and a slightly longer day, but the alternative is a truck that can't reach your gate. We'll tell you which truck size you need during the survey.
Cantonment specifics
The Cantonment has security checks at most major entry points. Truck registration and driver CNIC need to be confirmed in advance, and certain gates have hour restrictions for commercial vehicles. We coordinate with the Cantonment Board liaison as part of any move into the area. Westridge and Tulsa Road are the easiest Cantt neighbourhoods. Saddar Cantt requires more advance paperwork.
Bahria Town Phase 8 (and the rest)
Bahria Phase 8 is the largest residential development in the Rawalpindi-Islamabad area and accounts for a big share of our local move volume. Phase 8 has its own gate-pass system, NOC requirements for moving in or out, and parking allocations that we arrange before the truck arrives. Phase 1 to 7 are older, with quirks specific to each phase.
Routes from Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi to Islamabad: same-day, no surcharge. Rawalpindi to Lahore: 380 km on M-2, 5 to 6 hour drive, several trucks per week. Rawalpindi to Peshawar: M-1 motorway, same-day service. Murree, Abbottabad, and the northern hill stations run weekly with advance scheduling. Quetta, Karachi, and Multan via Lahore on consolidated long-haul.
